Grade 7: Essential Skills
- Reading Reading texts include fiction, nonfiction, and poetry on a variety of topics, which include literature, science, and history. Texts are rich and challenging, and comprehension questions include multiple choice, short answer, and open-ended questions.
- Language Major skills include verb tense, relative clause, dangling and misplaced modifiers, dialect, analogy, and connotation.
- Writing Students write different types of essays, including opinion, informative, and argumentative. Writing topic is often related to the theme in the text.
- Reading Skills Reading skills are introduced to guide students to become analytical readers. Skills include allegory, drawing a conclusion, foreshadowing, theme, and tone and mood.
